Is it possible to file an opposition against the registration of a trademark ?
Yes this is possible for national trade marks valid in most countries – both in Europe and outside Europe – and as far as European Union Trade Marks.
The opposition allows, in the course of the registration, to oppose against its registration on the basis of an earlier right.
This allows, in countries where provision is made to obtain a decision on the opposition in times generally short and with low cost.
Alternatively, in countries where the opposition is not allowed, you must take action before a court with a long enough time and with relatively more high cost.
